West Midlands based UKDN Waterflow, the water and wastewater infrastructure solutions specialist, has been shortlisted for the ‘Service Provider of the Year’ (turnover above £1m) category at the Midlands Business Awards.
The company, which was founded in 2003, was nominated for its work with insurance companies to help steer them through the potential customer service issues leading up to and following the Private Sewer Transfer, arguably the biggest ever change to the household drainage network in the UK.
Responsibility for over 200,000 miles of drains and sewers, previously covered by building insurance policies, passed over to Water and Sewerage Companies. (WaSCs)
As one of the leading independent drainage providers UKDN Waterflow proactively bridged the relationships between insurers and WaSCs, whilst providing thought leadership across the industry. UKDN Waterflow is the largest supplier of insurance related drainage services in the UK, working with over 75% of the leading insurance companies.
Using a consultative and partnership approach throughout the company provided bespoke briefings, processes, training and advice to enable a smooth transition for all involved.
Ultimately, UKDN Waterflow ensured customers received the right service, no matter who ultimately had liability.
The firm is up against five other companies from across the region in its category and will find out next February if it has picked up the award.
Gary Webb, Head of Communications from UKDN Waterflow, commented “We continue to evolve our business model to meet the changing needs of our insurer clients and their customers. Some of the biggest insurers in the country looked to us for guidance to steer them through the maze of changes leading up to and following the Private Sewer Transfer, and UKDN Waterflow stepped up to the mark to ensure that excellent customer service was maintained.”
UKDN Waterflow employs over 500 people across the UK through its Head Office in the West Midlands, and offers value for money solutions to the insurance, industrial and commercial, water and rail market sectors in the maintenance and asset management of drainage, water supply pipes, plumbing and other related services.
The final of the Midlands Business Awards is being held on 28 February 2014 at the Birmingham Metropole Hotel.
