Firms environmental consideration moves to next level with introduction of Fiat 500

UKDN Waterflow, Britain’s largest independent specialist drainage contract, has just taken delivery of an environmentally friendly Fiat 500 for use on projects in and around the congestion zone area in London.

The vehicle will be used night and day by both project staff and engineers for travel to and from sites and London Underground Stations, and the Technical Services base at Colnbrook, near Heathrow.

John Garlick, Fleet Manager, explained “We’re always looking at ways in which we can reduce carbon emissions and the effect of our fleet on the environment, and this seemed like an ideal solution. The Fiat, with just 95g CO2, meets the needs of the project team, is very easy to manoeuvre and park, and of course is free from the Congestion charge.

The car has Fiat’s revolutionary new TwinAir engine which downsizes emissions and fuel consumption and a Start&Stop feature which shuts off the engine automatically if you’re held up by traffic, helping to reduce emissions.

As part of its commitment to the environment all new UKDN Waterflow vehicles are either Euro 5 or Euro 6 compliant, with all new car emissions coming in under 130g CO2.

Branded with the distinctive UKDN Waterflow brand logo the car, which weighs in at just 900kg, is dwarfed by UKDN Waterflow’s massive Mercedes Actros 3241K 8×4 Huwer Jet/Vac combination Truck which weighs 32,000kg fully loaded, and will be based out of the company’s Vauxhall project offices.
